Female leaders inspiring the next generation

On June 26 Ribit in partnership with The Studio Creative Incubator at the Sydney Startup Hub brought together a community of female leaders, founders and students. Over 80 women including approximately 30 bright and enthusiastic tertiary students connected in a fun and supportive environment.

The entire event was live streamed to regional hubs across New South Wales and can be viewed here.

Women across our innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem growing in many regions of Australia inspired and encouraged our next generation of female leaders.

Chantal Abouchar, CEO of The Studio and Ribit Founder & Director, Liz Jakubowski, opened the event followed by incredible stories from 4 female entrepreneurs across regional NSW:

Kylee Ingram – Entrepreneur and Digital Content and TV producer at Elevator Entertainment, a new transmedia production company, based in Bangalow.

Irene Lemon – Co-Founder and Managing Director of Magic Electricity Box, a music publishing company that makes ‘songs that change the world’, from Armidale.

Valentina Borbone – Founder of the full-service marketing agency Banter Group, and Speak Group, who teach digital marketing courses, based out of Bowral.

Julie Aldridge – Founder of CourseSuite/Avide eLearning, an Australian-based e-learning company, from Coffs Harbour.

Liz Jakubowski asked the panel, “What is the most important piece of advice you can give to the students here in the room?” Here are their inspiring responses:

Kylee Ingram: “Back yourself by believing in yourself and investing in it.”

Irene Lemon: “Be the woman that other women can look up to.”

Valentina Borbone: “Back yourself. Tell yourself what you need to believe. Act like the job you want.”

Julie Aldridge: “Being creative is about finding different solutions. If you want to get there you will no matter which way.”
