This week, the ribit team are shining the spotlight on our very own IT guru, intern and ultimate nice guy, Magnus. We were stoked to actually pry him away from work/uni long enough to complete the interview (go us!)

Meet Magnus (sometimes known as “Magnusificent”).
What was your first job?
I worked in sales at a car accessories warehouse about three years ago.
Your current job?
Data Analyst and Liaison Ambassador at Ribit, Data61/CSIRO.
Does pineapple belong on pizza? Yes or no.
Yes – Hands down.
Where and what did/do you study?
I studied engineering in my undergrad and now I’m doing my Masters of Commerce in big data and finance. During my undergraduate study with USYD, I had the opportunity to go on an exchange and study in Sweden for a semester. It looks like I’ll be on exchange again (this time in Paris) with HEC Paris School of Management for the semester to come.
Years/Months/Days/Second since last coffee?
1 day and 6 hours ago – I was using caffeine to help me survive a 3-hour night time lecture yesterday. So much for quitting coffee (sigh).
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Not entirely sure yet – but something that combines technology, business and maybe even languages, I reckon. In addition to my “usual” career, I wouldn’t mind being an interpreter every now and then – currently learning Spanish and French.*
*Magnus already speaks three other languages so why not add another two?
